Preview Mode

Nemo‘s Preview Mode directly pass deformation result to graphics pipeline of Maya VP2, which greatly increase the up limit of frame rate. But there're some restrications for now, including:

  1. Only support display in wireframe or in textured, not in default material or "gray model".

  2. Preview shapes cannot be attached with extra deformer or controller, or wrote to cache.

  3. Some advanced or custom materials may be incomapatible. Nemo would print error message in bottom message bar, please pay attention to these if you met any problem relating to model abnormal displayed.

Must turn on display mask in Viewport — Show — Plugin Shapes

It's possible to switch between Preview Mode and Geometry Mode by clicking the Switch button in Nemo menu after selecting character or controllers. Geometry Mode outputs perfectly normal Maya meshes, without any problem mentioned earlier, but with a relatively low speed. (It's exactly same to toggle on/off write attribute of Nemo node)

Also, the Geometry Mode is indispensable for directly publishing Geometry Cache from Nemo. Of course you can also switch to original file for publishing.
